Panda Comets are one of the most widely recognised types of goldfish. They are best suited for ponds where they will live happily all year round. Sometimes they are found in aquariums, but this is not an appropriate way to house these fish unless the aquarium is particularly large as the fish themselves can potentially reach up to 30cm in size and produce an incredible amount of waste.
They make an excellent alternative for koi in smaller ponds.
Panda, like all comets are social fish and should be kept in groups. So it's important that they are kept in a suitable sized pond. They are not suitable for small aquaria.
Food should be offered in good quality pond feed and fresh or frozen fish foods. Only give as much food as the fish will consume within 10 minutes. Any uneaten food should be retrieved from the pond to avoid any unnecessary ammonia spikes and water quality issues.
