Description

Marine Clean Up Crew Pack – Premium Detritus Sweep (100-150 litres)

Clean up crew is absolutely essential in a marine aquarium. They are responsible for ensuring that detritus, algae and uneaten food are continuously kept in check, thus serving as an additional aid towards maintaining good water quality. Clean up crew typically comprises of snails and hermits, but other critters can also be handy for their specific services, which we include in some of our more premium packs.

Each marine critter has its own purpose and speciality, so a mix and match approach helps to target the specific needs for your reef.  This pack comprises of hermit crabs, turbo snails, a crab and a conch for a comprehensive clean up crew that focuses on detritus. The snails are excellent algae eaters, especially on glass. The hermits will also scavenge in and around the rocks, reducing food waste, as well as feeding on various types of hair algae and some other types of algae. The bumblebee snails will keep the sand turned and clean and the conch will also hoover around the sand. If algae and food is a little sparse, their diet can be supplemented with dried seaweed (Nori) and some meaty things like brine shrimp.

One of these packs will serve aquariums of up to 100-150L. For a more active aquarium, we recommend adding more snails as well to help keep your tank clean and clean up more waste.
