Large Ball Carborundum Air Stone x 1

A harder and longer lasting air stone.

This Large Ball Air Stone is an economical means to bring powerful aeration to your pond or aquarium. The 50mm ball will accept standard 4mm air line and disperse a steady stream of bubbles to create surface agitation and aeration needed. Traditional air stones need to be replaced periodically as they crumble and break down over time. Carborundum is a more durable material than pumice and will therefore last a lot longer than these traditional air stones, making this a more cost effective way to aerate your aquarium or pond.

Oxygen levels in water are very important to all fish, plants and inverts. Particularly during the summer, we need to bring additional oxygen to the water as the higher temperatures mean that the water will hold less oxygen and fish may begin to struggle. The bubbles will also provide valuable surface movement, crucial for the healthy exchange of gasses in water, preventing surface scum from settling and preventing your aquarium or pond from becoming stagnant.

Additionally, as filter bacteria are aerobic, adding a pond air stone to the pond filter will increase the oxygen levels. The more oxygen the bacteria have, the more efficiently they're able to process waste. Adding air stones will increase the amount of waste your filter can cope with.

Directions for use: Connect this ball air stone to air line and the other air line to the pump. turn on pump and submerge ball in the water. If air pump is al a lower point than the air stone, a non-return valve needs to be fitted.
