The Jansen's wrasse is an aggressive species that should only be kept in large fish only set ups. They are not best to have with mild mannered delicate fish, but they are fine with larger boisterous species. This fish is particularly useful in the aquarium as it will almost certainly eat bristleworms and pyramid snails, helping to keep the aquarium relatively pest free. Other invertebrates are also likely to be eaten. Some specimens will also clean parasites from other fish, though this isn't a consistently observed behaviour.
Feed several times a day and ensure that they have plenty of swimming space.
