The Glowlight Rasbora is a small species from South East Asia. They are a peaceful shoaling species that's best kept in groups of 6 or more individuals.
The aquarium should be at least 45L and well planted with tangles of drift wood to offer the fish security and plenty of enrichment. We recommend a dark background and substrate to really show off the lovely colours of these fish. The water should be well filtered with a gentle flow to replicate their natural habitat. Lighting should be diffused with floating plants. Soft, acidic or neutral conditions are required for this species to thrive. Additional leaf litter and other botanicals can be used to achieve this.
Trigonostigma hengeli are a peaceful species, they can be kept with most community fish that don't have extreme requirements. We recommend tank mates such as Kuhli Loach, smaller Tetra species, Cherry Barbs, Small Gourami species, small Catfish species, Dwarf Cichlids and many others.
Food can be offered in the form of micro pellets, flakes and fresh or frozen fish foods like daphnia, brine shrimp, mosquito larvae copepods and rotifers.
Please note that the fish you are buying are still juveniles and have yet to colour up. Offering a healthy environment and good quality high protein food will help bring them into full colour.
