Glowlight Danio (Danio tinwini) are one of the more unusual danios found in the hobby. These little fish don't grow quite as big as their temperate cousins, but are just as active and spectacularly beautiful. They are a shoaling species that should be kept in groups of 6 or more specimens and can be kept with most other species, though long finned fish should be avoided as the Danios are known for nipping. They will adapt to a wide range of conditions and prefer to be at the cooler end of the tropical scale. The aquarium should be planted with an open swimming space available. A tight fitting lid is essential as all Danios are accomplished jumpers.
The Glowlight Danio is a very active species that's always zooming around in the tank. They can help shy fish to feel more encouraged to come out of hiding, but any species that's easily spooked should be avoided as the danios are very boisterous.
Food can be offered in the form of flakes, micro pellets and fresh or frozen fish foods such as daphnia.
