The Fireball Angelfish is a small but very feisty species. It is a somewhat territorial fish that's best suited to larger aquaria with plenty of rockwork for it to zoom around and in and out of. Sadly, it is not a reef safe fish and will nip at all kinds of soft corals, LPS corals, clam mantles and invertebrates.
Tank mates should be chosen very carefully as they need to be able to hold their own against this fish, but not so large and aggressive that they would consider it to be food. Avoid delicate and docile species altogether.
Like all marine angels, this fish should be fed three times a day to support the very active lifestyle it has. Offer mysis and brine shrimp with garlic and spirulina as well as veggie based flakes or marine algae.
