Colombo pH pond test kit contains 40 tests, which measures how acidic or alkaline your pond water is. Most fish do not like fluctuating pH levels, with the majority needing to be kept at specific pH levels. Regular testing, especially within new ponds, can help prevent any damage caused by low pH.

One of the key parts of having beautiful koi that retain their vivid colours is providing them with the right water chemistry from the outset and keeping it consistent. Most pond fish don't like their water soft and acidic, so by testing regularly, you will always know when it's time to buffer or water change.

Pond keepers often neglect to perform regular water changes, only topping up as an when they feel it's necessary. But this can lead to pH levels dropping slowly over time and becoming too acidic for the fish. Low pH can reduce the efficiency of the pond's ecosystem as sludge consuming bacteria, among other things cease to perform their job and in extreme circumstances of pH dropping well below safe levels, the nitrifying bacteria will begin to hibernate. This means that they no longer process ammonia and the water quality plummets. This is called old tank syndrome and is easily prevented through monitoring.

Instructions For Use:
1. Take a water sample of 5ml.
2. Add 5 drops of pH test fluid.
3. Shake test tube.
4. Determine the pH-value using the included colour chart.
