An attractive fish suitable for medium sized fish only aquariums. It is an excellent browser and will consume filamentous algae among other things. It will eat certain corals and invertebrates, so it shouldn't be kept in a reef tank. Tank mates should be other small and medium peaceful species, but avoid adding more than one Citron Butterflyfish or other similar coloured butterfly as this species is known to be territorially aggressive. Most people don't struggle to get this species to feed.
Food can be offered in the form of mysis and brine shrimp with garlic and spirulina, as well as seaweed and nori to give this fish a full and balanced diet.
