Bottom drains have been used in ponds for decades and are still proving to be one of the most efficient and hygienic ways to keep your pond clean and and free of debris by pulling the waste through the bottom, where it's most likely to accumulate. Bottom drains are able to collect larger debris and are far less likely to get clogged than traditional pump fed filtration systems. This bottom drain and dome is ideal to be used to feed from your pond to a gravity fed filter for maximum efficiency.

The 9″ x 4″ Bottom Drain and Dome gives you a high efficiency low maintenance system when constructing a pond, as it draws debris and solids from the lowest level in the pond. Using a gravity feed system is more beneficial as the solids get fed straight into your filter system for removal and not liquidised into fine particles as with a in pond pump, the finer the particles the harder it is for your filter system to remove them, resulting in a poorer quality of water. The 4″ / 110mm outlet on the 9″ x 4″ Bottom Drain gives a high flow of water which gives a good pull removing debris from across the bottom of the pond.

Installation is easy, the pipework runs under the pond to the filtration unit. This bottom drain can be installed into any pond including concrete, fibreglass, pre-formed and lined. To get a waterproof seal, use pond sealant.
