The Bannerfish is a bold, outgoing fish that enjoys larger aquariums with plenty of swimming space. There should be plenty of rockwork for the fish to rest in and around. This species can be kept as a group, but they must be introduced simultaneously whilst they’re juveniles. Any specimens added at a later stage are unlikely to be accepted. Tank mates can be other large peaceful or semi aggressive species, but smaller and more docile fish should be avoided. Small invertebrates are likely to be eaten and this fish does nip at corals. Juveniles have been observed to be cleaning other fish, but this behaviour doesn’t typically happen with adults. They are an omnivorous species and should be offered both meaty foods and some veggie rations to keep them healthy.
