Why Japanese Koi?
There's a Reason Koi Have Been Prized for Over 1,000 Years
Japanese koi are living art. Each fish is unique, bred for its pattern, colour and body shape by master breeders in Japan. A well-kept koi can live for 25 to 35 years and grow to over a metre in length. They're peaceful, intelligent and, once you keep them, utterly addictive.
The problem is that good koi are hard to find. Most garden centres stock low-grade fish that won't develop properly. Buying online is a lottery. And the advice you'll find on forums is often contradictory and out of date.
