TMC Pro Pond UV 110 Pond Clarifier

The TMC Pro Pond UV 110 Pond Clarifier is a powerful 110W UV clarifier designed for large garden ponds and koi ponds, with an optimum pond capacity of 72,000 litres and a maximum flow rate of 25,000 litres per hour.

Using two 55W High Output UV lamps, the Pro Pond UV110 exposes circulating pond water to UV-C light to help control the free-floating algae responsible for green pond water.

Unlike some twin-lamp UV designs, water is directed past both UV lamps continuously, making effective use of the full 110W output as water passes through the unit.

Powerful Green Water Control

Green pond water is caused by microscopic free-floating algae suspended throughout the water column.

As pond water passes through the Pro Pond UV110, these algae are exposed to UV-C light. This causes the affected algae to clump together, allowing them to be captured more effectively by the pond’s mechanical filtration.

For reliable results, the UV should be correctly sized for the pond volume, stocking level, location and filtration system. TMC rates the UV110 for an optimum pond volume of 72,000 litres, with an absolute maximum of 75,000 litres.

Twin 55W High Output UV Lamps

The Pro Pond UV110 uses two 55W High Output UV lamps, providing a combined output of 110 watts.

Importantly, the internal design directs the water past both lamps all the time, rather than allowing part of the flow to bypass one of the lamps. This helps ensure the circulating water benefits from the unit’s full twin-lamp arrangement.

High Flow Rate for Large Pond Systems

With a maximum recommended flow rate of 25,000 litres per hour, the UV110 is designed to work with the substantial circulation rates commonly required by larger ponds and koi systems.

This makes it a considerably more appropriate choice for high-volume installations than trying to push excessive flow through a smaller UV clarifier.

The unit has an optimum pond capacity of 72,000 litres and a maximum stated capacity of 75,000 litres.

Flexible 2″ or Hose Installation

For larger installations using rigid pond plumbing, the UV110 has 2″ solvent-weld inlet and outlet ports.

TMC also supplies two multi-stage hosetails, allowing the unit to be connected to flexible pond hose from 1″ to 1½”.

That gives considerably more flexibility when incorporating the UV into either a new pond filtration system or upgrading an existing installation.

Easy to Check & Maintain

Transparent end caps make it easy to check whether the UV lamps are operating without having to dismantle the unit.

TMC has also designed the Pro Pond range to provide straightforward access to its working components, helping make routine maintenance and lamp replacement easier.

As with any pond UV, the quartz sleeves should be inspected and cleaned periodically. Deposits on the quartz can reduce the amount of UV-C reaching the passing water and therefore reduce the effectiveness of the unit.

Supplied Fully Assembled

Rather helpfully, the Pro Pond UV110 doesn’t arrive as a pond-keeper’s flat-pack puzzle.

It is supplied fully assembled with both UV lamps and quartz sleeves already installed. A wall/fence mounting kit, two multi-stage hosetails and a 5 metre power cable are also included.
