Turbo snails are an essential part of the clean up crew responsible for a healthy marine eco system. They are the first line of defense against algae as they are primarily algaevorous, but will also eat other bits of food as and when they find it. As a low maintenance species, they are excellent for beginners and experts alike, whilst also producing very little waste that would contribute to the overall bioload of the aquarium.

These snails are excellent for a reef set up as they are not interested in harming corals or any tank mates. They do best in aquariums with plenty of live rock and algae to graze on. If the algae is a little sparse, their diet can be supplemented with a range of frozen foods and dried seaweed (nori) as well.

Turbo snails require very little attention and maintenance, which is why they are one of the most popular critters chosen for algae management.

This is a marine species of snail and must be kept only in a marine (saltwater) setting. They will not survive a freshwater (tropical or coldwater) or land setting.
