Riccia in 80cc Cup

Riccia Fluitans also known as Crystalwort is known as a type of aquarium moss however it’s actually a plant that looks and grows like a moss! it can either be planted on the bottom of your aquarium as a lovely foreground plant or it can be a floating plant as it is found in nature.

Riccia is easy to grow and is therefore suitable for all levels of experience. It grows quite happily in any freshwater tank. It is also possible to trim the leaves to create any design you choose.  It is recommended that its grown in tanks with low water flow as a fast moving current may snap its fragile stems. You can either grow it on the surface of your tank when it won’t need as much light but if you use it at the bottom of the tank it’s recommended that you have a higher-level LED light. It can be kept at temperatures between 15 and 30 degrees celcius but thrives best between 20 and 26 degrees and likes a pH between 6.0-8.0.

Riccia Flutains is famous for being a fast grower if kept at the right temperature, pH and lighting levels. it should grow uninhibited up to an estimated 3 – 5 centimetres every two months. Just be careful it doesn’t take over your aquarium as it could grow everywhere! Regular trimming is recommended and removal of any detached leaves to keep your filter unclogged.
