Nuphar Lutea, otherwise known as Brandy Bottle is a relative of the water lily. It is a native plant that can be found in deep ponds and lakes, as well as slow moving streams and rivers. It is not a true water lily (nymphea), but grows in a similar way. There aren't quite as many surface leaves with this species, but many underwater leaves are produced. Unlike most water lilies, this plant can be planted in very deep water. Flowers emerge from June through to August and are bright yellow in colour.
