Fine Filter Foam 12x4x4
12x4x4inch fine filter foam cartridge. Filter Foam is a great media for any freshwater filtration system as it is simple to use, clean and provides a significant level of surface area for bacteria whilst also removing debris from the water column.
It is designed to serve as both mechanical and biological filtration. The coarse foam collects larger fragments of food, debris and other detritus from water passing through the filter. Bacteria will colonise the sponge, offering additional biological filtration to go alongside the ceramic media. This foam block can be cut to any size to fit any filter. Use alongside medium and fine foam, as well as filter wool for crystal clear water in your pond.
To clean, The Fine Filter Foam 12.5x4.5x4.5 can be squeezed out in a bucket of pond water before returning it to the filter. Sponges should be cleaned once a week to ensure that the filter can continue to run as efficiently as possible. Any sponges laden with detritus can slow down flow and make pond filtration and water turnover inefficient.
