The Fluval® Foam Pad captures large particles and debris for effective mechanical filtration, the crucial first stage in the filtration process. Custom-sized, it fits perfectly inside the filter chamber to prevent debris bypass. The foam pad has a pore size that allows efficient water flow, less clogging and long-lasting filtration. Collects debris and detritus out of the water column to improve water clarity and to make it easier to remove waste from the aquarium. Suitable for freshwater, marine or reptile environments. Includes 2 foam pads. For the Fluval® U Underwater Filter range.

• Complex foam structure maintains consistent water flow and naturally promotes beneficial bacteria growth

Rinse the foam pad thoroughly before use and push into the foam compartment. Rinse the foam pads alternately weekly and replace when the water circulation slows noticeably. To ensure retention of the beneficial bacteria required for biological filtration, NEVER rinse or change both pads at the same time. Always use aquarium water, not tap water to rinse your filter foams. Replace every 3-6 months to ensure continued efficiency.
