The Blue stripe Snapper is a large attractive species from the West Indian Region. It is a bright yellow fish with four blue stripes that run the whole length of its body. This fish is fairly peaceful and a shoaling fish when it's a juvenile. Adults prefer a more solitary lifestyle.

They're not particularly aggressive and can be kept with a range of other fish, but as it is a carnivore and a large fish, small timid species should be avoided. This fish is part of a rare mimicry relationship with Mulloidichthys mimicus, the mimic goatfish which is remarkably similar in appearance. The goatfish will school alongside snappers to avoid being targeted by predators.

This snapper is not reef safe and will eat small crustaceans and worms.
