Aquarium Silver Sand
Decorative sands for aquariums to help you achieve a stunning natural look in your aquarium set up. Silver Sand is the most popular choice for aquariums due to its natural appearance and light colour. Does not alter pH or any other parameters, but may cause clouding when first added. Clouding will settle after 24-48 hours, but can be sped along with the use of filter floss in the filtration system.
Sand is a superior choice of substrate over gravel as it is far more hygienic due to detritus remaining on the surface of it. Many species of fish can only be kept on sand to protect their delicate barbels, such as cories and several other species of catfish. Geophagus and other sand sifters also require sand substrate.
Not for use with under-gravel filters.
